History
Novartis was created in 1996 from the merger of the Swiss companies, Ciba-Geigy and Sandoz. Our name, "Novartis" derived from the latin 'novae artes' means "new skills".
In 2006, Novartis celebrated 10 years of helping patients worldwide since the successful creation of a health care leader through the merger.
With its headquarters in Basel, Novartis operates in 140 countries and
has more than 98 000 employees.
