Sales
Our key objective is the continuous pursuit of Excellence in Sales to deliver exceptional results through providing a high level of professional service to all customers, thereby assisting the patients who utilise our products. Customer centricity and patient focus is driving critical decision making across Pharma, and will be a key part of how we do business in 2009 and beyond.

Market Access
Our objective is to assure and improve time to market for key new launches and obtain reimbursement for in-market brands and new products.

Medical
The Medical Department is comprised of:

  • Clinical Operations
  • Medical Affairs
  • Drug Regulatory Affairs (DRA)
  • Quality Assurance (QA)

The overall objective of the Medical Department is to provide direction, guidance and support to our organization to enable optimal delivery on a wide range of clinical, operational and commercial targets across a changing and varied environment, thereby bringing innovative medicines and solutions that ultimately enhance patient care.

Clinical Operations is responsible for taking innovative drug candidates from the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research or from licensing partners, and proving them to be safe, effective, high-quality therapies with superior value to patients. Novartis currently has approximately 140 projects in the pharmaceutical pipeline.

The aim of Medical Affairs is to enhance the lives of patients through the compelling exchange of innovative medical and scientific information with the healthcare community. Pharmacovigilance is on the list of services offered.

Drug Regulatory Affairs (DRA) is responsible for securing industry-best approval times with commercially attractive labeling for new products, and maintaining product registrations for Novartis products already on the market. DRA offers strategic input and tactical support for new products and product lifecycle management for registered products, while ensuring compliance with the company policy, national laws and regulations.

Quality Assurance (QA) ensures that the products which are released to market together with all aspects of the handling, manufacturing and distribution comply with Novartis Corporate Quality standards, and meet all relevant regulatory requirements.
